Woodville Baptist Church is a small but vibrant congregation in Grafton, Nova Scotia. For generations, our doors have opened each Sunday morning to a mix of long-time members, newcomers to the Valley, and travellers passing through — all drawn together by a shared belief that faith is best lived in community.
Our Story
The story of Woodville Baptist Church is woven into the fabric of rural Nova Scotia. Established many decades ago by families who farmed the fertile lands around Grafton and Woodville, our congregation has weathered wars, harvests, hardships, and celebrations together. The building has been repaired, the pews polished, and the roof mended more times than anyone can count — but the mission has remained the same: to worship God, love our neighbours, and pass on a living faith to the next generation.
Today we continue that legacy. Membership crosses generations, from lifelong residents whose grandparents helped build the church to young families who arrived last month. What binds us is not sameness but shared purpose.
What We Believe
As a Baptist congregation, we hold to the historic Christian faith while giving each believer freedom of conscience in their walk with God. In brief, we believe:

Our Congregation Today
Sunday morning at Woodville reflects the community we serve. You will find retired teachers and young apprentices, farmers and healthcare workers, university students home for the weekend and grandparents watching the next generation grow up. We are proudly small enough that everyone is known by name, and welcoming enough that a first-time visitor is quickly folded into the circle.
The church is served by a dedicated lay leadership team, a volunteer worship team, Sunday school teachers, and a network of members who quietly ensure that everything from bulletins to coffee is ready each week. Leadership at Woodville is shared, prayerful, and accountable to the congregation.
